University Libraries Learning Studios



The Bierce Library Learning Studios are identified as rooms 61, 154, 274, and 279.These flexible, wireless, technology rich spaces effectively support instructor-led classroom activities and informal, student-initiated learning activities. All Learning Studios have mobile, light-weight tables and chairs that can be configured to support the traditional classroom or collaborative group work. The Learning Studios are open when the library is open, and students may use the space and technology when the rooms are not scheduled. Laptops can be booked separately for use in the Learning Studios.

Scheduling Learning Studios

Bierce

Only University of Akron Faculty, staff, or student groups may book the Learning Studios in Bierce Library

Learning studios must be booked online, at least 48 hours in advance of the event. The Learning Studios are not available as a replacement for the registrar’s assignment of classrooms. University Faculty are encouraged to schedule activities and single classes that support their curriculum.

Only University of Akron Faculty may book the Learning Studios in Bierce Library

Room 152B is available for current University of Akron instructors to book for casual consultation with their students. Instructors can book two-hour time periods per day throughout the semester. Please do not leave personal belongings in the room when not present. Room 152 will remain unlocked and available for others to use when not booked.
