Overview
Electrical and electronic engineering technology is at the core of most modern equipment, from cell phones and computers to power generation and manufacturing facilities. Our program uses hands-on lab learning to prepare students for careers with the latest technologies and their applications.
Graduates of our associate degree program can continue into our bachelor’s program at The University of Akron or start careers in industry. They work in a variety of fields, including power distribution, industrial controls, electronics, and technical management.

Students who meet The University of Akron’s admission requirements and choose engineering as their major are directly admitted into the College

Career Outcomes
Our graduates take on a variety of technician, technologist, and engineering roles across the electrical and electronic industries. Learn Through Experience
Our engineering students learn through experience. Our famed co-op program, one of the oldest in the country, provides students with paid industry experience. On average, students earn $47K over three co-op rotations, all while completing their degree. Within six months of graduation, our 2024 College graduates launched careers, pursued graduate school, or entered military service, with an average starting salary of $72K.
