Overview

Financial planning is a growing and dynamic field. US News & World Report ranks Financial Advisor as #4 in Best Business Jobs, with opportunities in corporate finance, nonprofit organizations, and independent advisory roles.

Students have the opportunity to enhance their credentials by completing educational requirements for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. Additionally, they can pursue a dual major in financial planning and accounting to prepare for both the CFP® exam and CPA licensing.

Our accomplished faculty combine academic expertise with real-world experience, while strong connections with local and national financial professionals give you mentorship and networking opportunities to launch your career with confidence.

Admissions Requirements

The University of Akron Bulletin acts as a guide for degree requirements, however official requirements are established at the time of transfer and admission to the degree-granting college. Once enrolled, students should refer to the degree progress report which is definitive for graduation requirements.
