Overview
The Minor in Biomedical Engineering prepares students in other engineering majors — such as mechanical, electrical, computer, chemical or polymer engineering — with the specialized knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the biomedical field. This includes understanding the regulations and requirements unique to biomedical engineering.

This minor is open to students in engineering bachelor's programs (4xxxxxBS other than biomedical engineering, plus 987001BS) with junior status.

A degree in biomedical engineering prepares you for a wide range of careers in medical device and life sciences companies, engineering firms, government agencies and post-baccalaureate studies in engineering, law, medicine or the health professions. Learn Through Experience
Our engineering students learn through experience. Our famed co-op program, one of the oldest in the country, provides students with paid industry experience. On average, students earn $47K over three co-op rotations, all while completing their degree. Within six months of graduation, our 2024 College graduates launched careers, pursued graduate school, or entered military service, with an average starting salary of $72K.
