Overview
Strengthen your science foundation with a Chemistry Minor that complements majors across science, engineering or health. You’ll build core understanding of how matter behaves at the molecular level, develop quantitative reasoning, and practice purposeful lab work. Along the way, you’ll learn to analyze data and interpret results.
Admissions Requirements
Students must meet undergraduate admission requirements to The University of Akron.
Career Outcomes
A chemistry minor signals readiness for data-driven, lab-aware work alongside your major. Students apply molecular and analytical skills in healthcare settings, environmental testing, biotech and materials labs, technical sales/support, and QA/QC. Electives like biochemistry can also strengthen applications to medical, dental, or pharmacy school.
