Overview
The Primary Inclusive Teacher Preparation Program prepares you to teach children from preschool through grade 5 in inclusive classrooms. You’ll earn dual licensure in Primary and Intervention Specialist, gaining the skills to support both typically developing children and those with special learning needs. With field experiences, a co-teaching model, and hands-on faculty support, you’ll graduate confident, classroom-ready, and equipped for a wide range of teaching opportunities.

Career Outcomes
Graduates of the Primary Inclusive Teacher Preparation Program are ready to make a difference in classrooms from preschool through grade 5. With specialized training to support both typically developing children and those with mild to intensive learning needs, you’ll be prepared for roles such as:
Inclusive classroom teacher
Intervention specialist
Early childhood educator
Instructional support teacher
You’ll be equipped to teach in public, private, and charter schools, and to pursue advanced roles in educational leadership, curriculum development, or specialized support services. Students will also have the opportunity to become certified Structured Literacy Specialists once they complete the practicum and pass the additional KPEERI exam.
