Overview
Electrical engineers impact every part of modern life. They design electrical devices and systems ranging from huge power grids and global communication networks to tiny integrated circuits in computers and personal electronics, all of which are essential to the infrastructure and products we use every day. As technology advances, there is growing demand to improve existing systems and develop new ones. Electrical engineers may design mobile communication networks, electric vehicles or their charging stations, aircraft or spacecraft control systems, automated manufacturing systems, or electronic devices like smartphones, computers, or medical equipment.
Our comprehensive curriculum prepares you to solve real-world problems. You’ll start with core courses like circuits, electromagnetics, physical electronics and signals and systems, then advance to electronic design, communications and control systems. Hands-on labs help you apply what you learn using modern engineering tools.

Career Outcomes
Electrical engineering covers areas such as communications, controls, electromagnetics, electronics, electric machines and power systems. Key applications include sustainable energy, electric and hybrid vehicles, manufacturing automation, aerospace systems, robotics, sensors, power generation and distribution, mobile networks, data centers, instrumentation and imaging systems.

Learn Through Experience
Our engineering students learn through experience. Our famed co-op program, one of the oldest in the country, provides students with paid industry experience. On average, students earn $47K over three co-op rotations, all while completing their degree. Within six months of graduation, our 2024 College graduates launched careers, pursued graduate school, or entered military service, with an average starting salary of $72K.
