Overview
The AAS in Construction Engineering Technology program combines classroom, lab and industry experiences to prepare students for careers in construction. Students study engineering mechanics, construction contract documents, materials and methods, scheduling and cost estimating for commercial and residential construction.
Graduates often continue on to a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering Technology or enter the construction industry. They find employment with construction contractors, engineering firms, material suppliers or public agencies.

Career Outcomes
Individuals working in construction engineering technology use knowledge of construction methods, business operations and management skills to support construction projects. They work on residential or commercial buildings, bridges, roads, dams and wastewater treatment systems.
Recent UA grads with an AAS in Construction Engineering Technology have been hired by companies including the Ohio Department of Transportation, Great Lakes Construction and Environmental Design Group.

Learn Through Experience
Our engineering students learn through experience. Our famed co-op program, one of the oldest in the country, provides students with paid industry experience. On average, students earn $47K over three co-op rotations, all while completing their degree. Within six months of graduation, our 2024 College graduates launched careers, pursued graduate school, or entered military service, with an average starting salary of $72K.

Students can also join one of our many student organizations such as Concrete Canoe Team, Steel Bridge Team, Geo-Challenge Team, the Construction Management Association of America and American Society of Civil Engineers.
