Overview

The Bachelor of Music (BM) in Composition is designed for passionate musicians eager to shape the future of music. This dynamic program immerses students in a rich curriculum that blends rigorous music theory, musicianship, and history with hands-on keyboard skills, personalized lessons, and vibrant ensemble experiences. Students receive focused, one-on-one mentorship in both traditional and cutting-edge compositional techniques, empowering them to craft original works and thrive in a wide array of creative careers or pursue advanced graduate studies.

Admissions Requirements

To be accepted as a music major, both freshmen and transfer students must successfully complete an audition on their major applied instrument, complete the Undergraduate Placement Examination in Music Theory, and be evaluated in keyboard skills.
