Biography
Sergeant First Class Ryan Tiura is a native of Berlin Heights, Ohio and graduated from Edison High School in 2010. He enlisted as a Cavalry Scout in the Army on October 12, 2010 and completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, KY.
SFC Tiura has served in every leadership position from Team Leader to Platoon Sergeant. His previous assignments include: 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Richardson, Alaska; 3rd Squadron, 73 Cavalry Regiment, Fort Liberty, North Carolina; Long Beach Recruiting Company, Los Angeles, CA; 1st Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
SFC Tiura is a graduate of all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System for his rank, Basic and Advanced Airborne Schools, Combatives Level 1, Master Driver Course, Hazardous Material Course, Master Resiliency Course, and the Equal Opportunity Advisor Course.
SFC Tiura’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal with ten Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Accommodation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Good Conduct Medal, Fourth Award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one Campaign Star, the Inherent Resolve Campaign Service Ribbon with two Campaign Stars, the Global War on Terrorism Service Ribbon, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral Three, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral three, the NATO Ribbon, the Army Recruiter Badge, Gold Award, the Combat Action Badge, the Senior Parachutist Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and one Meritorious Unit Citation.
