Biography
Drew Ippoliti is an American artist, researcher and educator; he is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Instruction, and Ceramics Department Coordinator in the Myers School of Art at the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.
Drew’s artwork investigates how ceramics can explore and explain the regions where both culture and craft collide. Drew Ippoliti has been awarded various research fellowships including a China Ministry of Education Cultural Research Fellowship, A Taiwan Ministry of Education research Fellowship, and Fulbright Fellowship from the US State Department.
In 2015 Drew was a Visiting Fellow at Tainan National University of Arts. In the past Drew has served as a Senior Visiting Lecturer at Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing, Artist in Residence at Tyler School of Art, and a Visiting Faculty member at Sheridan College in Ontario, Canada.
Drew’s work has been exhibited internationally at various exhibitions and is held in multiple public and private collections internationally in Denmark, Holland, China, Taiwan and Korea.
