Biography

Sofia Calderwood was born in Scotland and began her education in Jewelry and Metals at Leksand's Handverkets Folkhogskola in Sweden. Following this Calderwood earned a BA(hons) in Silversmithing and Jewellery from Glasgow School of Art in Scotland and an MFA in Jewelry, Metals and Enameling at Kent State University.

Calderwood is currently Manager of Student Affairs at The University of Akron's Myers School of Art Myers School of Art. She is a studio artist and also currently teaches classes in the metals programs at Myers. The University of Akron's Myers School of Art. She has taught classes at Kent State University and in the enameling department of Cleveland Institute of Art. Calderwood's work has been shown internationally and published in Metalsmith Magazines and American Craft.
