Professional & Academic Experience

Jeff Gillentine is the Group Finance and Accounting Leader (Controller) at Westfield Insurance, a personal and commercial lines property and casualty insurance company headquartered in Westfield Center, Ohio.

Jeff assumed this role in 2017 and is responsible for the finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury and tax functions at Westfield. He also sits on several leadership committees, including the Benefits Administrative Committee which oversees all benefits plans within the organization.

Jeff joined Westfield in 1990 and has held a wide variety of leadership roles within the financial part of the organization over his 26 years at the company. Prior to joining Westfield, Jeff was an audit and tax manager at Hausser + Taylor, a regional accounting firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Akron and is a licensed CPA in the State of Ohio and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association for Financial Professionals.

Jeff currently serves on the boards of the West Virginia Insurance Guaranty Association, Delaware Insurance Guaranty Association, and Tin Roof Society. He also sits on the University of Akron Accounting Advisory Board as well as the Financial Issues Committee of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America.

When not at work, Jeff's interests include family, baseball and travel. Jeff resides with his wife, Nancy, in Medina, Ohio. Together, they are the proud parents of four adult children.
