Professional & Academic Experience

Lisa Monihan is a Partner in the Trusts & Estates Practice Group of Schneider Bell. Her practice is focused on wealth transfer planning for individuals and fiduciaries, including income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning; trust and estate administration; multi-generational family issues; retirement planning; succession planning for closely-held businesses; and charitable planning. 

Lisa graduated from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (J.D., 1984) and from John Carroll University (B.S. in Economics, 1979).

Lisa has been an ACTEC (American College of Trust and Estate Counsel) Fellow since 1998, and is a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and Ohio Women’s Bar Association, in addition to numerous other community boards and committees.

Lisa was named “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers for Tax Law in 2024, and for Trusts and Estates Law in 2023.

Lisa is a frequent speaker to professional and community groups on estate planning and related topics.
