Professional & Academic Experience
Rich Martorano is a 1978 graduate of the University of Akron, and majored in Accounting. Rich, a native of Bridgewater, New Jersey, attended the University of Akron on a Herman Muehlstein Scholarship. He also has an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Memphis. After graduating from Akron, Rich started his career with the international accounting firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (Big 4 firm KPMG), working on the audit staff in the Akron and Cleveland offices. After spending four years in public accounting, Rich joined the J.M. Smucker Company, holding various financial and accounting positions during an 11-year span. In 1993, Rich became the Manufacturing Controller for Borden Foods, in Columbus, OH. Four years later, Rich was named Controller for Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc., which is the largest manufacturer of high density polyethylene drainage pipe in the world.
Rich is a licensed C.P.A., and holds memberships in the American Institute of CPA's, The Financial Executives International, The Ohio Society of CPA's, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Association of Financial Professionals. In addition to serving on the College of Business Advisory Board for the School of Accountancy, Rich is a member of the Executive Committee and is Treasurer for Junior Achievement of Central Ohio.
Rich currently resides in Dublin, Ohio. He is married to wife, Linda, an Akron native, and has two daughters, the oldest of which is in medical school at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
