Professional & Academic Experience

Adele was born in São Paulo, Brazil and immigrated to the United States in 1963. Her family lived throughout the United States before settling in Akron. While attending the Université de Nice she was an au pair and then received her Bachelor and Master degrees in Economics from The University of Akron. Adele has glazed windows, owned a business, taught freshman economics and has recently retired from the City of Akron. She joined the City of Akron Mayor’s cabinet in 2014 as the Deputy Planning Director. Her most recent projects included assisting with the reorganization of several departments in to a new Office of Integrated Development where her role as Development Director allowed her to flex her Economics skills in the realm of downtown and urban redevelopment.
