The University of Akron accounting program provides the analytic tools and foundation to be successful in many career paths. Popular placement for our graduates include big four and super regional accounting firms, law firms, corporate, investment advisory and government agencies.
Active associations and fraternities that provide opportunities to interact with students from diverse backgrounds, network with business professionals, participate in competitions and organize community service projects.
The George W. Daverio School hosts several yearly conferences including the National Tax Conference, the Ohio State and Local Tax Conference, the International Tax Conference , the Karen and Frank Steininger Lecture Series and Trends in Finance and Accounting.
Our interns are well compensated and frequently receive offers for full-time employment upon graduation. Accounting students work closely with our CoB professional development team to be career ready for internships and full time positions. Our special accounting preparation events include the annual Fall Kick Off, Game Night with Employers and mock interviews. These events prepare students for accounting career fairs, Evening with the Accountants (fall semester) and Experience Accounting (spring) events.

The Board seeks to bridge the gap between the students and professionals. Members work with the university's accounting students to assist in their professional development.
More than $100,000 in total annual scholarships each year, all of which are funded by the professional community, former students and dedicated friends of the School of Accountancy.
