Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS)

Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is a web-based platform that gives instant access to financial, economic, and marketing data used by various disciplines such as Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Economics, and Statistics. In addition to the data sets provided by WRDS, The University of Akron subscription includes access to financial research databases such as Compustat, CRSP, and Zacks.

All students, faculty, and staff can access WRDS through a day pass. An active UANet ID is required.

Students

At the WRDS logon, accessible from the link below, enter your UA email address. An email is immediately sent with a day pass link to WRDS. These links are valid for 24 hours; after that, a new day pass must be requested.

Note: Undergraduate students can only access WRDS through a day pass.

Faculty Staff, and Graduate Students

Faculty, staff, and graduate students can request individual accounts in WRDS by completing information at the link below. It normally takes one business day to review and approve these requests. The accounts for graduate students are valid for only one semester. Returning graduate students may send an email to business@uakron.edu requesting an account to be reactivated for a semester.
