Yuvraj Subedi’s journey to software innovation began amidst the tranquil landscapes of Beni, Nepal, far from the bustling corridors of academia. There, against the majestic backdrop of the Himalayas, he cultivated a deep passion for computer science and mathematics — a passion that ignited his relentless pursuit of knowledge. Intent on leaving his mark on the world of technology, he became committed to advancing his education at The University of Akron (UA).

“Choosing UA was a no-brainer for me,” said Subedi. “The University’s strong scholarship programs, plentiful research opportunities and unwavering commitment to providing top-notch education distinguished it from other institutions. To this day, it serves as a shining example of excellence in computer science, with a comprehensive package of opportunities and resources.”

DISCOVERING A VIBRANT COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

Upon arriving on campus, Subedi was greeted by a vibrant community of scholars and an array of extracurricular activities ripe for exploration. Equipped with a major in Computer Science and minors in Mathematics and Statistics, he fearlessly tackled his academic challenges while fully immersing himself in the collegiate experience. Ultimately, he graduated as a proud alumnus of Williams Honors College and an active participant in the table tennis club.

“During my time at UA, I gained lifelong friendships and valuable professional experience through internships,” he shared. “In my sophomore year, I worked as a program coordinator intern at Pioneer Academics, where I honed my organizational, leadership and technical skills. Then, in my junior and senior years, I transitioned to a quality assurance intern at Drips Holdings, LLC, further expanding my understanding of software development and quality assurance practices. These experiences were instrumental in shaping my professional growth and preparing me for my career in software engineering.”

WHAT DOES A COMPUTER SCIENTIST DO AFTER GRADUATION?

After graduating summa cum laude in 2022, Subedi was driven to make an immediate impact with his academic prowess. This determination led him to join Pile Dynamics, Inc. (PDI) as a software engineer. Globally renowned for its cutting-edge, high-quality testing solutions, PDI has been a trailblazer in developing state-of-the-art QA/QC products and software for the deep foundations industry since its establishment in 1972.

“I currently drive the design, development and maintenance of web applications, harnessing state-of-the-art technologies to deliver seamless user experiences,” Subedi explained. “As a scrum master, I cultivate collaboration and propel project success, guaranteeing peak efficiency and exceeding client expectations with our solutions.”

Beyond full-stack web application development, Subedi has also contributed to creating and maintaining Windows applications used globally in deep foundations testing and quality assurance. He is dedicated to optimizing databases, crafting custom Windows applications and providing exceptional client support while upholding the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
