Biography

Dr. Ramlo came to UA in 1994. She is internationally recognized for her social and behavioral science research using Q methodology. Ramlo has numerous book chapters on mixed methods research and Q methodology as well as over 50 refereed journal publications.

Additionally, Ramlo focuses on STEM education research. She won the Outstanding Teacher-Scholar Award at The University of Akron in 2005 and received the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education Award for Teaching Excellence that same year. In 2017, she received the American Education Research Association Distinguished Paper Award.

Ramlo is the moderator for physics education research for arXiv.org, an international archive of preprints, and is the Advisor and Executive Committee member for the international Q society, the International Society for the Scientific Study of Subjectivity. Prior to coming to UA, Ramlo worked as an Industrial Physicist in the radiation detection industry.
