Biography
Marybeth Poder teaches courses in first year writing, Fiction Appreciation, Intro to Linguistics, and Twentieth Century Literature. She specializes in pedagogy and the rhetorics of social change movements and has research interests in student empowerment through identity safety and belonging. She has published a chapter, “Making Use of the Mundane: The Women’s Trade Union League’s Fight to Give Working Women a Voice,” in a collection, Women at Work: Rhetorics of Gender and Labor, edited by David Gold and Jessica Enoch. She is currently working on a project to equip and empower instructors of remedial university courses to aid in student success.
