The EEO Office investigates concerns regarding behavior of employees or third parties surrounding discrimination and harassment involving the protected classes specified in University's Non-Discrimination and Harassment policy. If you believe that you have been treated differently because of your membership in one of the protected groups, you may file a formal complaint.
It is considered a violation of University policy for any act of retaliation to be taken against an individual because the individual has filed a good faith complaint.
Complaints under Title IX
Complaints filed involving allegations covered by Title IX are handled in accordance with the University's Gender-Based Misconduct & Title IX Policy and Protocol. For more information on that process, including a copy of the policy, visit the University's Title IX website.
Procedures
Complaints that do not involve allegations under the University's Gender-Based Misconduct & Title IX Policy and Protocol are investigated using the EEO's complaint process. An overview of the EEO Complaint process can be found here. Complaints alleging Anti-Semitism will be investigated using the definition provided by the Ohio Attorney General's Office, available here. Formal complaints can be filed using the EEO Complaint form or made in person at the EEO Office - Administrative Services Building, Suite 101. Questions on the policy, process or a specific situation can be directed to the EEO Office at 330-972-7300 or EEOCompliance@uakron.edu.
