01/27/2020

Gale Crosley

Crosley, who earned a B.S. in Accounting in 1972, is the founder of Crosley+Company, where she serves as a growth consultant to accounting firms. Licensed in Ohio and Georgia, Crosley works with mid-market accounting firms — guiding them through the transition beyond a traditional business model to protect and grow revenues and margins.

Prior to starting her own firm, Crosley worked first as a staff auditor for Arthur Andersen in Cleveland, and then Price Waterhouse (now PwC) in Atlanta. She then spent several years leading growth initiatives at IBM and several start up technology companies.

Crosley’s work served as the inspiration for a novel she wrote, “At the Crossroads,” which chronicles the challenges and successes of a fictional CPA firm struggling with growth. She also is an editorial advisor for the Journal of Accountancy, the flagship journal of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for practicing CPAs.

Throughout her career, Crosley has received other honors as well. In addition to being selected as one of the 10 Most Recommended Consultants in the Inside Public Accounting Best of The Best for 15 years, she has received the accounting profession’s Advisory Board Hall of Fame Award and the Simonetti Distinguished Business Alumni Award from her alma mater.

Crosley says she looks back fondly at her very busy years on campus. The full-time student worked part-time at Roadway Express, was a majorette for the Zips Marching Band and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.

“I attribute much success to outstanding accounting professors, such as Al Lieberman and Orville Keister, who saw my talents long before I did,” says Crosley. “They were instrumental in my achieving the Becker CPA Review Course scholarship, enabling me to sit for the CPA exam while still a college senior.

“I’m proud of my alma mater and the opportunity to stay connected and give back,” adds Crosley. “There were just a few women accounting majors in my graduating class. My story can be an inspiration, especially for young women, knowing there are no limits in fulfilling their God-given talents. Discover those talents and make a mark on the world!”

Gale Crosley will be the keynote speaker at the Fall 2020 School of Accountancy Symposium.
