CEO of Blue Apron is Goodyear Executive Leadership Forum speaker

Studying the attributes of successful people can help to make you a success. That’s the message students at The University of Akron will hear from Brad Dickerson, president and CEO of Blue Apron, at the 2018 Goodyear Executive Leadership Forum on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 1:45 p.m. in the Jean Hower Taber Student Union Theatre. During his speech, “The Top 5,” Dickerson will share the top five attributes he has witnessed in people he considers great leaders and how they have shaped him as a business professional. The event is free and open to the public.

A native of Northeast Ohio, Dickerson is a graduate of Strongsville High School and a 1987 graduate of UA. His career in business has included work in wireless communications and the aviation industry before becoming well recognized in the business community as chief financial officer of Under Armour, Inc. He joined Blue Apron in 2016 as chief financial officer and was appointed chief executive officer two years later.

“It is such an honor to welcome Brad back to campus and have him share his insight with today’s students,” said Dr. Ravi Krovi, dean of the College of Business Administration. “His experience leading two innovative and pioneering businesses will resonate with our students who aspire for similar careers.”

The Goodyear Executive Leadership Forum was established in 1981 to enable students, faculty and the community to interact with individuals of national and international stature. Sponsored by the Institute for Global Business in the College of Business Administration in conjunction with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, past speakers have included presidents and chief executive officers from successful organizations such as Penske Corporation, J.D. Power and Associates, The J.M. Smucker Company, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, The Charles Schwab Corporation, FirstEnergy, The Sherwin-Williams Company and many others.
