CBA Finance Team Takes First at the Insurance Collegiate Challenge

2017 continues to be an incredible year for the College of Business Administration Department of Finance. On September 30, the team of Victor Hayne, Alejandra Velasco-Villanueva, John Hojnacki, Bethany Blazer, and Alec Wilkins traveled to Ohio Dominican University in Columbus to compete in the 1st Insurance Collegiate Challenge. The competition, sponsored by the Insurance Industry Resource Council (IIRC) and MAPFRE Foundation, required students to compete in a live simulation of building and running a successful insurance carrier.

The team from The University of Akron came in first place, bringing home another win for the Finance Department in 2017.
