Attention: Finance Students can Apply for Participating in the SCHWAB IMPACT 2013 Annual Conference & Expo now!

07/08/2013

Selected students and faculty from local and national universities are invited to IMPACT to gain exposure to the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) community and meet with exhibitors and advisors. The University of Akron Finance Students have been selected to participate in the SCHWAB IMPACT 2013 Conference and Expo.  The Chief Operating Officer of Charles Schwab and The University of Akron Alumni has offered to sponsor four students and one advisor to attend this years’ IMPACT.

In addition to CHARLES SCHWAB’s generous donation to send our students to this wonderful event, the Department of Finance, with the assistance of the Department of Finance Advisory Board, will also provide financial support for the trip.  Students selected, however, will be required to pay $100.00 of the cost by check to the department as directed upon selection.   The department will book air travel and hotel rooms.  Reasonable food expenses (breakfast, lunch and dinner only when not provided by the conference) will be reimbursed with receipts only.  Students are directly responsible for all other necessary and reasonable expenses.

STUDENTS ATTENDING THE 2013 IMPACT WILL BE ASKED TO SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH THE FINANCE ADVISORY BOARD, THE FPA STUDENT CHAPTER OR THE FMA STUDENT CHAPTER.

To be eligible, students MUST have completed  SIXTY  credit hours including 6400:343, must have a minimum 3.0 GPA,  and must submit, BY 5:00 p.m. SEPTEMBER 13, 2013 all of the following:
