Being born and raised here in Akron, the University wasn’t my first preference for colleges to attend coming out of high school, as I was eager to get out and see a new area. I chose to stay here simply because all my credits from high school would transfer and they wouldn’t at other colleges where I was accepted.
At first, I felt like staying here wouldn't give me the best college experience. I had already been in this city my entire life and on this campus for four years prior — I attended a high school that is on campus — but it didn’t take long for me to see that I was wrong and that staying here was a great choice.
I realized that my first year in the CBA when I was introduced to multiple business leaders in the community. The CBA prepares you for your life after college and connects you with people outside of the college who can help. I’m thankful that many people I’ve met in and through the CBA have played a great part in my progression as a professional and as a person. More importantly, I have formed relationships that will last my entire life.
