Professional Selling student earns 3rd place out of 1800 students in a national elevator pitch competition.
Taylor Smith
Taylor Smith, a graphic design major pursuing a minor in marketing, earned 3rd place out of 1,800 students across the country in the inaugural SpeedSell RNMKRS digital elevator pitch competition this Fall.
Professor Cynthia Tomasch's online Professional Selling Class participated in the competition as a way to develop their skills in this necessary part of the sales process. Students were able to access the SpeedSell platform to review video training to introduce students to some of the important concepts prior to the competition. Students then used the Pitch Perfector tool to better hone in on their story and the elements that make them unique and valuable. After that, the students completed their pitch video online and submitted it for the competition.
Professor Tomasch attributes Taylor's success in the competition to hard work and investing the time to be successful, Despite her demanding academic schedule and her leadership role as the Fine Arts Chair for the Zips Programming Network on campus, Taylor made time to practice and fine-tune her pitch, often very late in the evening! Her dedication and work ethic led to her exceptional performance!
Even as graphic design student, Taylor recognized the benefit of developing the elevator pitch
skill, This experience has helped me build my unique elevator pitch while helping me gain confidence in selling my pitch to others. I highly recommend this competition to any student who wants to work on their elevator pitch in a fun, interactive environment. I am so honored to have placed 3rd in the inaugural SpeedSell RNMKRS digital elevator pitch competition.
