Three students from The University of Akron's (UA) College of Engineering and Polymer Science recently showcased their research findings at the Annual Student Research Symposium for the Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC).
Ryan Dippolito, Lee James Nestor and James Lyons, all undergraduate students, participated in the symposium alongside scholars from other Ohio universities at the Ohio Aerospace Institute on March 22, 2024. Students presented the research they accomplished during the preceding academic year and discussed their research project with faculty, students and attendees.
These students were not only participants but were also recipients of OSGC STEM Research Scholarships during the 2023-2024 academic year. Under the guidance of their faculty advisors, they undertook research projects that explored critical aspects of aerospace science, engineering and education. Congratulations to James Lyons for winning the Outstanding Poster Award.
“These three exceptional undergraduate students exemplify the College’s commitment to fostering excellence in research and innovation and to preparing students for success in the aerospace industry and beyond,” shared Dr. Julie Zhao, assistant dean of the College of Engineering and Polymer Science. “Congratulations to our students and their faculty advisors! As a campus representative, I encourage more students and faculty members to consider opportunities provided by OSGC.”
