Welcome to The University of Akron Bands. On behalf of the 175 music majors in the School of Music, and countless other academic majors represented in our band program, we want you to become a member of the UA Bands.
Every ensemble in our program is open to ALL students regardless of your academic major. Students who are enrolled at Wayne College are also eligible to participate in the UA Bands.

OHIO BAND DIRECTORS CONFERENCE
HONOR BAND - Fri. & Sat. Dec. 4 - 5, 2026
Open to all High School wind and percussionists - based on audition results. Join us for an exciting weekend of music with guest conductors and guest composers. Rehearsals on Friday and Saturday conclude with a performance at the end of the annual Ohio Band Directors Conference on Saturday, December 5th, 2026 at 4:15 pm in the Student Union Ballroom. ALL-STAR "Director Recommended" BAND - Fri. & Sat. Dec. 6 - 7, 2024
Open to all High School wind and percussionists - pending a recommendation from your high school director. NOTE: Recommendation Forms will be sent to directors after you have registered to participate. Join us for an exciting weekend of music! Rehearsals on Friday and Saturday conclude with a performance at the end of the annual Ohio Band Directors Conference on Saturday, December 5th, 2026 at 3:30 pm in the Student Union Ballroom.
