Founded in 1974, the Barker Center is committed to advancing economic and financial education by equipping learners of all ages with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to make informed decisions for themselves, their families, and their communities. The Center strengthens the teaching of economics, personal finance, and entrepreneurship across K–12 education, higher education, and the broader community through high-quality professional learning, standards-aligned curriculum resources, research and evaluation, and strategic partnerships that connect classrooms to real-world economic challenges. This work is guided by an advisory board composed of leaders from business, finance, and education who help ensure the Center’s programs remain relevant, rigorous, and impactful.
