Biography
Dr. Subich received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from The Ohio State University in 1981 and joined the faculty of Akron that same year. Her theoretical orientation is comprised of elements from the humanistic, cognitive, and developmental perspectives and her research interests include vocational and counseling research, with special emphasis on issues relevant to women and members of underrepresented groups. She is currently a full-time member of the Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s office, but regularly teaches an undergraduate course in Professional and Career Issues in Psychology. Her publications have appeared in the Journal of Counseling Psychology, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Career Assessment, and Career Development Quarterly. She is a Fellow of Divisions 17 and 45 of the American Psychological Association and in 2000 received the John Holland award for outstanding achievement in career or personality research. Dr. Subich serves on the editorial boards for the Journal of Counseling Psychology and the Journal of Career Assessment.
