Challenge play rules
- Each participant must sign up in person with the court monitor or call next game. When no monitor is present players should communicate with other players waiting to play.
- Participants sign up on a first come, first served basis. If a group wants to play together, they must all be present at time of calling next game.
- There must be a team of 5 people to sign up.
- The losing team must exit the court at the end of the game.
- The winning team or winning team members have the right to stay on the floor and be challenged until they are defeated. If the winning team decides not to play the next game, the next two teams on the sign-up sheet will be called to play on. If the winning team loses any players, they pick who plays with them but not from the losing team.
Low participation
Rules for low participation are in effect when less than 10 people are signed up and waiting to play.
- When more than 10 people are present for the first game, the first two teams are decided by a skill shot until the teams are determined. The players eliminated from the first 10 will play the winner.
- Games will be played to 15 points by 1’s and 2’s.
High participation
Rules for high participation are in effect when 10 or more players are signed up waiting to play.
- Games will be played to 15 points or 20 minutes, whichever occurs first. If the score is tied at 20 minutes, the first team to score wins. The winning team will then stay on.
Tennis and other net sports
The rules above should be adjusted for the appropriate number of players for the sport.
- Tennis and badminton doubles has priority over singles.
- Volleyball 6-person teams should be used when there are participants waiting to play.
