What We Do

The Office of Technology Transfer supports faculty, students, and staff with the protection and commercialization of innovations and intellectual property developed at The University of Akron. The office manages invention disclosures, assesses technologies for market potential, coordinates patent filings, and facilitates licensing agreements. The office also assists with startup formation stemming from UA research and collaborates with local, regional, and national partners to help bring university innovations to market and contribute to regional economic development.
