Patrick Tabatcher is Assistant Director of Online Learning Services at The University of Akron (July 2024–present). With more than two decades supporting online and hybrid teaching, Patrick partners with faculty to strengthen course design through clear visuals, multimedia production, and learner-centered digital experiences.Areas of Expertise

Biography
Patrick joined the university in 2000 after earning a BFA in Graphic Design from UA’s Myers School of Art and later completed a master’s degree in Communication and Media Studies. He also serves as an Assistant Lecturer in the Myers School of Art and co-teaches a course in the School of Dance, Theatre and Arts Administration on digital technology for dance and theatre students. Patrick's past positions include Manager of Online Learning Services (2021–2024) and Senior Multimedia Producer (2003–2022).
Patrick is an advocate for accessible, standards-compliant web experiences, and he has presented on the topic at national and international conferences. His interests also include the user experience of online systems, including research involving eye-tracking and information recall.
