About
Anthony (Tony) Samangy is a motion and graphic designer originally from Pittsburgh PA. He is a Professor of Graphic Design in the Myers School of Art at The University of Akron and has served as Graphic Design Co-coordinator since 2017. He earned BFA and MA degrees from Kent State University.
Tony has worked professionally since 1994 as a graphic, web, UI/UX, and motion designer on local, regional and national accounts. His first professional gig was designing the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood website for PBS, including an animated GIF of the Neighborhood Trolley—it’s all been downhill since.
Tony’s motion, animation, and video work has garnered many awards and been screened at film festivals internationally including the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland International Film Festival, New York International Independent Film Festival, Melbourne Underground Film Festival, Bloodstained Independent Film Festival, Nightmares Film Festival along with dozens of others.
