About
Caitlyn Phipps joined The University of Akron as Board Secretary and Special Assistant to the President in October 2025. In her role as Board Secretary, she serves as the primary liaison between the Board of Trustees, University leadership, and key stakeholders.
Prior to joining the University, Phipps served in a similar role at Portland State University. Before working in higher education, she earned her B.S. and M.S. in chemistry and studied in Scotland, with her research focusing on the analysis and conservation of historic window glass.
