The Certificate in Piano Pedagogy equips students with the practical skills and teaching techniques needed to become confident and effective piano instructors. Admissions Requirements
To be accepted as a music major, both freshmen and transfer students must successfully complete an audition on their major applied instrument, complete the Undergraduate Placement Examination in Music Theory, and be evaluated in keyboard skills.
Career Outcomes
Graduates of the certificate program are prepared to teach piano in private studios, community music schools, after-school programs, or church settings. Many launch their own teaching studios or use the certificate to supplement degrees in performance or education.
