Overview
Through the Health Care Leadership and Management program, the student will gain the knowledge of the health care institution that is separate from business. A student with a clinical background will be able to bridge the gap between their health care discipline and healthcare leadership.
Healthcare leaders will process, analyze and report information vital to the delivery of health care.
Through this program the student will gain the knowledge of the health care institution that is separate from business.
Through the Health care Leadership and Management Program, students will receive leadership and management training that bridges the gap between clinical practice and health system management. The program also leverages the training the student has gain through their associate degree and previous clinical practice, to focus uniquely on those skills required for clinicians to transition into a leadership or managerial role. The student will also gain a unique understanding of the institutional and regulatory factors that are necessary to manage and lead in complex health care organizations.

Career Outcomes
Graduates of the Health Care Leadership and Management track are prepared to take on supervisory and administrative roles across hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health organizations. With strengths in team leadership, operations, and strategic decision-making, alumni are equipped for roles such as health care manager, department supervisor, practice administrator, and emerging leaders driving efficient, patient-centered care.
Students begin the degree as a first-year student in the traditional pathway. Included in this pathway are 15+ credits of specialty coursework leading to a minor or certificate in a related field.
As a "Step-Up" degree, students build upon an associate degree in a related field including, but not limited to, health services, health informatics, medical assisting, medical billing and coding, or clinical health care associate degrees.
