Join us at The University of Akron’s Guzzetta Hall for an immersive experience exploring the relationship between psychology, music, and emotion. Interactive conversations on psychological science will be interspersed between multiple musical performances from our campus community. The event will conclude with a presentation from Featured Speaker Elizabeth Germano, Music Therapy Coordinator at Akron Children's Emily Cooper Welty Expressive Therapy Center.

This event is presented in partnership with Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology and Tau Beta Sigma’s Epsilon Iota Chapter.

About the Speaker
Elizabeth Germano earned her bachelor's degree in music education from The University of Akron and master's degree in music education and music therapy from East Carolina University. Liz completed her internship at Bethany Village in Dayton, Ohio, and has been a board-certified music therapist since 2008. Liz is also a certified NICU-MT, issued in 2019 by the National Institute for Infant and Child Medical Music Therapy, specializing in providing research-based music interventions to infants in the NICU setting. Liz currently serves as the full-time music therapist at Akron Children’s since 2018.
