This collaboration is made possible through The University of Akron Arts & Culture Council, dedicated to fostering collaboration and visibility between arts & culture leaders on campus.

April 29, 2022 through August 27, 2022

James Edwards is a jewelry and metalsmithing major graduating from The University of Akron’s Myers School of Art at the end of the Spring 2022 semester. Originally from Rochester, NY, James plans on starting his own jewelry art business. His work is mainly comprised of cast metal objects, from pendants working with organic forms to larger sculptural works of mystical creatures representing inner emotions and states of mind. In his show, Emotional Creatures, he tackles topics of anxiety, depression, and inner demons by manifesting them into physical forms to show what those states of mind look like. Zachary Tyler Gill is a senior student who is graduating this Spring semester at The University of Akron. Having once worked in the industrial sector in packaging and as a Certified CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machinist, Gill left the industry in order to pursue his passion as a major in Painting and Drawing, with a minor in Illustration. While he has developed an interest in rendering machine subjects while looking back on past experiences, Gill’s most recent focus has been to appropriate more traditional subjects through horizontal and vertical strokes, in order to achieve mechanical sensations and view life through a mechanist philosophy.

Vee Morman is a ceramic artist who works by hand and with the potter's wheel. They create work intended for decor using mixed mediums and ceramics. Their current body of work is inspired by the thought of sex and gender and how that can be percieved and translated through shapes. They can be found on Instagram at @VemorCeramics.

April 29, 2022 through August 27, 2022

Gabrielle Zink is a photographer from Canal Fulton, Ohio. She is currently studying at the University of Akron earning her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography. Gabrielle’s work looks into the portrayal of women in today’s media and society. She uses self-portraiture and still photography to create feminine personas based on these portrayals. She can be found on Instagram at @GabrielleZink.
