The School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology is an academic program in the College of Health and Human Sciences of The University of Akron. Through professional education, the School prepares highly qualified audiologists and speech-language pathologists who are dedicated to helping individuals achieve their full communication potential.

Programs

Bachelor’s Degree

The School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology offers an undergraduate degree to prepare students for admission to a graduate program in either speech-language pathology or audiology. The program includes in-person, Hi-Flex, and online undergraduate courses.

Master’s Degree

The School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology offers a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology. The program in Speech-Language Pathology is designed to lead to professional licensure by the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board and The Ohio Department of Education. The school offers both a traditional on-campus graduate program and a collaborative distance learning (online) graduate program.

Doctor of Audiology

The University of Akron and Kent State University, in affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation have united to provide a professional Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree program through the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium (NOAC).
