Community and Workforce Education

The Bachelor of Arts in Community and Workforce Education is designed for students interested in non-licensure teaching and training, instructional design, and community and workforce program development careers.

The 120-semester credit hour program is offered in a hybrid class format at UA’s main campus location through the LeBron James Family Foundation School of Education within the Buchtel College of the Arts and Sciences.

Graduates with this degree will be able to pursue careers in both corporate and non-profit organizations with roles such as:

Career Opportunities

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2022), employment of training and development specialists is projected to grow 8% from 2021 to 2031, faster than the average for all occupations.  The projected growth rate for the community, state, and service managers is 12% and the childcare sector by 6%.

The 2028 Ohio Job Outlook Report states that careers in Management and Technical Consulting will increase by 21.3%.  

Career Services

Career Services is located in Student Union 211, with another office in College of Arts and Sciences Building 126. Career Services provides career coaching and programming, and develops valuable relationships with employers and campus partners to provide students with many opportunities for experiential learning and career development.
