Choose Ohio First

• Must be an Ohio resident
• 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA required
• Must major in a qualifying recruited STEM field
• Must plan to be full-time on Main University of Akron campus (Akron, OH)
• Must apply to the Choose Ohio First STEM Scholarship Program during qualifying window: Accepted on a rolling basis; students encouraged to apply as soon as possible in transfer process
• Must be a transfer student applying to UA or in their first semester since transferring to UA

• Must be a resident of Ohio
• Enrolled graduate student at the University of Akron main campus
• Demonstrate consistent academic progress towards degree completion
• Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or above at the time of application
• Enrolled in an eligible STEM program
• Must not receive tuition remission from another source

• Must be an Ohio resident

• Must be full-time on main UA campus
• Must apply to the Choose Ohio First STEM Scholarship Program during qualifying window: Accepted on a rolling basis; students encouraged to apply as soon as possible in the major change process
• Must be a current student who has not completed more than one semester in their new eligible major (75% or more of a semester is considered one semester)
  • Current students in their first year are not eligible to apply for the Current & Transfer Application unless there is a documented change in their program of study since the start of their academic career. 

Current graduate students are not eligible to apply for the Choose Ohio First program.
