When you think of college, often the assumption is that most students partake in alcohol or substance use; and although that is what most students think, the truth is that most actually do not participate often or at all.
Whether you simply do not like alcohol and substances or you have other reasons for abstaining from them, our programming offers events and ideas to enjoy socializing and fun — alcohol and substance free.

We took a Campus Climate Survey to gain social norming data from current UA students. In 2018 and 2020, we asked the following questions; and as you can see from their answers, there is a strong misconception regarding alcohol and substance use in college.
Q: How often do you think the typical student at your school drinks alcohol?
A: Most students answered 2 to 3 times per week. (2020)
Q: How often do you drink alcohol?
A: Most students answered monthly or less, or never. (2020)
Q: Within the last 30 days, how often do you think the typical student at your school drank alcohol?
A: Most students answered 10 to 19 days. (2018)
Q: Within the last 30 days, on how many days did you drink alcohol?
A: Most students answered 1 to 2 days, or none. (2018)
