What’s changing for faculty?
- Effective June 1, 2023, The University of Akron began using Workday (Student functions in Workday will be made during the Student implementation project through the Fall 2024 semester).
- Workday has replaced MyAkron and Empcenter as the system for accessing and updating payroll and personal information.
- Faculty and their departments will manage travel, purchasing requests and supervisory tasks all in one place: Workday.
- Vocabulary used to refer to different business processes and systems has changed.
- Workday allows individuals to delegate tasks for approval on their behalf, including many human resource processes.
What can you expect?
- Resources are available to help as we make this important shift toward the future. In March 2023, the Workday Project Team began training and transitioning into the new system. Many opportunities to learn more about the Workday system and participate in training are available for faculty and staff. See the training page and sign-up today!
- Faculty will be kept informed along the way and can expect to receive updates as we get closer to launching the new system University-wide. See the milestones page to view the plan for upcoming functionality available in the Workday system.
