Academic Advising
Academic Advising at BCAS
As you transition into the Buchtel College of Arts & Sciences (BCAS), your academic advisor will help you explore your interests, strengths and goals while connecting them to your academic and career plans.
Your advisor will discuss your academic progress, help you understand your degree requirements and their impact on your career goals, assist you with course registration, including adding and dropping classes, and help you stay on track for graduation.
Your academic advisor can help you:
- Explore or change your major and add a minor
- Understand degree requirements and academic policies
- Plan your course schedule and register for classes
- Monitor your progress toward graduation
- Identify faculty mentors and campus resources
- Explore career pathways and graduate school options
Academic Advising helps you identify and achieve your academic and professional goals, engage in meaningful classroom and co-curricular learning experiences, make informed decisions and become a lifelong learner.
