History of Buchtel College

Since its founding in 1870, Buchtel College has been the academic cornerstone of The University of Akron. From educating students during Akron's rise as the nation's fastest-growing city to pioneering the world's first rubber chemistry courses, the college has helped shape generations of innovators while evolving into today's Buchtel College of Arts & Sciences.
